The entrance is a little off the beaten path, but the name is a staple among. I do not know what will go in here next, but I do hope that whatever its next iteration, it remains a LGBTQ-friendly space. Nestled inside Downtown Crossing, near what is unofficially Boston’s wild weekend drinking district, this long-standing, bear-centric, leather bar offers dance, karaoke, and trivia nights, as well as pool tables in a casual, sports bar-like atmosphere. However, The Boston Eagle was always, first and foremost a neighborhood bar, catering to all who could weather the withering stare from Jack the bartender. If you happened to walk by the space last week you would’ve seen it was being cleared out.

The bar also proved to be confusing for many out of town gay visitors since many gay bars called The Eagle, cater to the leather crowd.
